High school students taking part in sport within their school will not be required to provide a medical certificate.
No need to have a physician's written agreement to enter the football, badminton or handball in schools. Among the new measures of health law, enacted Jan. 26, high school students will not be required to provide a medical certificate. So far, the youth who chose a sporting activity in their college or school within the National Union of School Sport (UNSS) outside conventional course of physical education, must necessarily go through the "doctor" case to justify in writing the absence of indication-cons. Note that this medical examination was not reimbursed by the health insurance, which could represent an obstacle for some families. By removing the medical certificate, the new public health law will thus enable more students to participate in sport by signing up for UNSS activities which currently has nearly one million licensees. Pétrinka Lawrence, National Director of UNSS, welcomes this measure, which revolutionized the sport in schools: "The certificate was given to the chain, the doctors saw it as an administrative act, and represented a cost to families, the price of a consultation. That will facilitate access to sport for all ".
On the side of the medical profession, this deletion is not for a very good eye. For Jose Clavero, general practitioner, the medical certificate was helpful. "This is not a simple buffer, it allows us to make a point with young people on their adaptation to the effort, check their support ...", he lamented the microphone of France Info.
